Westgate will start the fall hockey unit. Skills in hockey will be introduced and reviewed. After that, Cup Stacking and basketball. Sounds like fun, Wolverines!
Greenbrier is in the middle of fitness testing and will begin their team building activities. Awesome Gators!
Ivy Hill will be doing the Heart Course. The kids will act like oxygenated and deoxygenated blood and travel through an obstacle course that represents the human heart! Get pumped up Eagles!

Welcome, Mr Staehlin! Mr. Staehlin is working under Mr. Gries at Dryden as a student teacher. Mr. Staehlin is currently a student of Northern Illinois University and will soon graduate when he is through with his student teaching assignments. Good luck, Mr. Staehlin!
All of our schools have finished or are finishing up their soccer units. It took a little longer to do since we had some rain days. Mr. Helmann, our newest addition to the Elementary P.E. department, is teaching one of our most popular units right now- GYMNASTICS!! Many schools are doing fitness tests which include sit-ups, push-ups, jump rope, and the mile/half mile run. Dryden will be getting the bowling unit soon. Ivy Hill will be getting the heart course, and Windsor will be getting the Speed Stacks soon. We are in for some great weather this week so let's take advantage. Put the game controllers down and get outside!!!
It's never too late for an introduction!!! Please welcome Mr. Alan Helmann to the district! Mr. Helmann is the new P.E. teacher at Greenbrier. He replaced Mrs. Duba who retired last year. Though we are sad to see Mrs. Duba leave, we are very happy to have Mr. Helmann as her replacement. Mr. Helmann is a graduate of Northern Illinois University. He also coaches football when not teaching. Did you know that Mr. Helmann's wife teaches in the district? That's pretty neat! Have a great first year, Mr. Helmann!!!

We just wanted to check back in with you. It's already late September and the weather is cooling quickly. Our schools have been taking advantage of the mild weather and have ended some of our outdoor units. Let's hope it doesn't get much cooler too quickly so we can stay outside to prevent premature cabin fever!!!
